Spring SportsFairfax Youth Sports provides multiple leagues for boys and girls who are pre-k though highschoolers! The grade determined for age groups is the grade of the player at signup. (I.E: a player that will be in kindergarten in the spring of 2026 is considered a kindergartener.) Signups will begin in March. FYS believes every child should have an opportunity to play youth sports and offers a scholarship program for families if the registration fee poses a hardship. Scholarships are provided through local donations from local businesses and participants like you. Every dollar helps. Pre - K - 2nd Grade Little League Soccer Fairfax Youth Sports provides a Little League Soccer program for Pre-K - Kindergarten and 1st - 2nd grades. This is a coed league. Games are held on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm (we will use Thursday evenings if needed). The season runs from April 21, 2026, through May 19th, 2026. Practices will begin around April 1, 2025, or as weather permits. The games are held at the Fairfax Regional Sports Complex (the Complex), 625 Linn St Fairfax IA. If you have a special request, please include it in the comment section of the registration form (not all requests may be honored but I will do my best). Equipment requirements Little League soccer: Shin guards, socks that cover the shin guards completely, and soccer cleats. Tennis shoes can be worn. Baseball/ softball cleats (no metal cleats) are acceptable IF the front toe cleat has been removed. Players may wear their jerseys over sweatshirts/ hoodies. This league uses a size 3 soccer ball. Fairfax is a member of the Iowa Valley Boys Baseball League. Games are held on Monday/Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm. The season runs from May 18th, 2026, through June 25th, 2026, with a postseason tournament starting on June 28th, with times and dates TBD. An All-Star game will be held in Blairstown after the postseason tournament. More information on the All-Star game will be announced at a later date. Practices are held on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:30, but may include other times, depending on the coaches' schedules. The home games are held at the Fairfax Regional Sports and Park Complex (the Complex) at 625 Linn St, Fairfax, and away games are at the individual towns’ sites. The regular season starts Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, and ends with a postseason tournament beginning Monday, July 6th, 2026, dates and locations TBD. Teams play twice per week, and games could be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, typically starting at 6:00 pm. The Fairfax teams play their home games at Fetter Field at 601 Church St in Fairfax and play away games at either Daniels Park in Cedar Rapids or North Liberty. Practice for the Fairfax teams begins in early April, weather permitting. Practices are scheduled by the coaches, usually after work during the week, but could include weekends depending on schedules.
