Fairfax Parks and Recreation

 

 

 

 

Since before the 1950s, Fairfax has enjoyed summertime sports, specifically baseball. So much has changed since then. Today the Fairfax Parks & Rec Department receives over 600 registrations yearly for youth and adult sports. From peewee soccer to adult coed softball our sports facilities are busy April – October. Here is a listing of our recreational sports programs:

  • Disc golf (summer/ fall) – This league is free of charge for all ages.

 

Did you know that FYS provides scholarships for our youth to participate? We firmly believe everyone gets to play. Please contact Joe Kell at parks@cityoffairfax.org for more information.

 

But sports aren't all we do. Here is a list of other amenities that can be found throughout Fairfax:           

 

  •         8 different parks that span more than 24 acres
  •         Approximately 6 miles of walking/ riding trails
  •         1.35-acre off-leash dog park with agility equipment
  •         a 15-hole disc golf course.
  •         6 different playgrounds
  •         4 outdoor basketball courts
  •         2 fish ponds
  •         2 public-use baseball/ softball fields
  •         A splash pad
  •         5 pavilions with grills that are available to reserve for your next event
  •         2 sand volleyball courts
  •         Community gardens
  •         2 pickleball courts
  •         A tennis court
