Fairfax has two public fishing ponds: City Pond near the corner of W Prairie Dr and Prairie Circle is 1.35 acres, and Heartland Heights pond off of Heartland Heights Dr is 10.25 acres. Each pond is

open to the public during normal park hours, 6:00 AM - 10 PM. The Fairfax Parks & Rec Department styrongly recommends catch and release and follow all Iowa DNR regulations. Both ponds have been stocked and you may catch a blue gill, catfish, bass or any other of several species.
