2023 Polar Splash

The 3rd Annual Polar Splash was another "cool" success. A bit warmer than the previous year with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees. As brave souls took their place under the football and were soaked with freezing water, $1,638 was raised for local charities. The big winners were the Fairfax Food Pantry ($742.00) and the Lyme Warriors ($831.00.) Thank you to everyone who participated and made this possible.

What is the polar splash?

It’s

kind of like the Polar Bear Club where participants, where ever they live, jump into a designated body of water on January 1st. Well, we’re going to take advantage of the splash pad and we can't wait until January 1st. For the last three years, in October, each participant collects pledges from friends and family, or anyone really, and brings the money to the Complex on the day of the "Polar Splash". Each participant will stand under the football when it releases water. The "Polar" comes from the water being really cold.

100% of the pledges collected will go to local charities, varying year to year. Each participant can decide which charity (out of the chosen charities) they will be collecting money for or if it will be a split.

Yes, you can wear whatever you would like in the splash. Free hot chocolate and popcorn for everyone at the Complex that day.

The event is rain or shine. You're going to be wet anyway, right?
